This policy describes what the software actually does today and is published
so testers can read it before signing in. It has not yet been reviewed by
counsel and will be replaced before any general release.
Refresh is a professional education and community app for licensed
dermatology and aesthetic-medicine providers. This policy covers the iOS app
and the service behind it. It is written by Ten K Ventures, Inc.
The short version
We collect what an account needs and what you choose to publish. We do not
track you, we run no advertising, we have no third-party analytics in the app,
and we never ask you for information that identifies a patient.
What we collect
Your account. An email address and an identifier from
whichever sign-in you use. If you sign in with Apple and choose
Hide My Email, we only ever receive Apple's relay address, never
your real one.
Your professional profile. Your name, and optionally
your credentials, practice and specialty. Your name is
public — reviews and forum posts are published under it, because
that is what makes them worth reading to the next provider.
What you tell us during onboarding. Your practice type,
what you want to get out of the app, and the concerns you treat. Used to
order what you see first.
What you write. Reviews, ratings, forum posts, and any
photographs you attach to a review.
What you save. Devices you favourite, and sessions you
register for. Favourites are private to you.
How you use the catalogue. Which device pages you open,
recorded against your account so we can improve what the app surfaces.
This stays in our own database and is not sold or shared.
What we never collect
Patient-identifying information. The forms that accept
clinical images accept a fixed, allow-listed set of fields, and none of
them identify a patient. This is enforced in code, not by policy: a form
that started accepting a patient name would fail rather than store it.
Advertising identifiers, or any data for advertising purposes.
Your location, contacts, health records, or device identifiers.
Analytics or tracking through third-party SDKs. The app links Firebase
Authentication and Google Sign-In only. There is no analytics or crash-
reporting SDK in the shipped binary.
Photographs and consent
If you attach before-and-after photographs to a review, you sign a release
at the moment you upload them. Every stored image is tied to that signed
release in the database, and an image cannot exist without one. Images are not
visible to anyone — including you — until a reviewer on the physician board has
approved the review they belong to.
You are responsible for having the patient's permission before you upload a
clinical photograph. Do not upload an image that identifies a patient.
Who else processes your data
Google (Firebase Authentication). Verifies your sign-in
and issues the token the app presents to us. Google receives your sign-in
identity; it does not receive what you write in the app.
Cloudflare. Hosts the service and stores the database
and uploaded media.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Your account and what you have published stay until you ask us to remove
them. Withdraw a media release, or ask for your account to be deleted, by
emailing nkakarla@tenkventures.app and we will take the content
down.
Your choices
You can read the device catalogue, sessions and the forum without an
account at all. You are asked to sign in only when you want to write
something.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted.
Sign in with Apple lets you withhold both your name and your real email
address. The app will ask you for a display name before you post, because
a review has to carry a real name — but it never needs your email.
Children
Refresh is for licensed medical professionals. It is not directed at
children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we change this page in the same release and
move the version marker at the bottom.
